Some federal states offer public funding for in-company further training and seminars. Please note that we must have the relevant certificate of the funding measure before the start of the further training. We will explain some of them below. Employees in North Rhine-Westphalia can receive the education cheque every two years if the applicant's company has fewer than 250 employees and their taxable income does not exceed 30,000 euros (joint taxpayers: 60,000 euros). The education cheque subsidises 50% of the course and examination fees, up to a maximum of 500 euros. The training course must cost at least 500 euros.

The continuing education bonus favours employees and trainees who work or live in Schleswig-Holstein. Owners and freelancers who employ fewer than 10 people are also supported. The programmes eligible for funding include vocational further training courses of at least 16 and a maximum of 400 hours. Up to 50% of the training costs are covered, up to a maximum of 2,000 euros. The remaining 50% is to be paid by the employer. The further training must amount to at least 160 euros.

With the further training bonus PLUS, up to 50% (maximum 750 euros) of further vocational training is subsidised. Employees who work in companies with fewer than 250 employees and who work at least 15 hours per week and are subject to social security contributions are eligible for funding. The further training bonus also applies to the self-employed. Applicants must either live or work in Hamburg.

In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the participation of employees in further vocational training measures that serve to acquire, maintain or expand professional qualifications and skills is subsidised. The subsidy amounts to a maximum of 75% and a maximum of 500 euros.

Employees with an average monthly gross salary of less than 4,575 euros receive the DIREKT further training programme. Seminars, courses, coaching and further education programmes with total costs of 1,000 euros or more are eligible for funding. Employees receive different amounts of funding depending on their gross salary and employment status. In Lower Saxony, employees from companies with business premises in Lower Saxony and owners of companies with fewer than 50 employees are eligible for funding. Support is provided for expenses for qualifications (course and examination fees), personnel expenses of the participants (expenses for leave of absence). A maximum of 50% of the total costs (course and examination fees as well as expenses for leave of absence) can be subsidised. The minimum funding amount is 1,000 euros. Expenditure on qualifications is eligible for funding up to a maximum of 25 euros per participant per hour.
